Will my dog actually learn to use this?
Most dogs work it out in a session or two. Some need a week. It is a new behavior they are learning on their own terms, not something that happens automatically the first time they see the board. The training guides walk through the whole process, front paws first.
What if my dog just eats the treats and ignores the scratching?
The tray is sealed except for four scent holes, so they can smell the treats but cannot reach them without scratching. If they are only investigating and not digging yet, that is normal for the first few sessions.
Is it too small for my dog?
The filing surface is 420 × 280 mm, sized for medium and large dogs, and the board is rated to a 40 kg load.
Will treats spill out?
No. The tray loads and stays face up, whether the board is flat or propped at 30 degrees. It slides in from the back, it does not tip or hinge open.
Does it file evenly across all five nails?
The abrasive sits on a 2.0 mm TPU cushion that gives under each nail on its own. Bond abrasive straight onto a rigid board instead and the longest two or three nails take all the pressure.
Will it work for an older or low-energy dog?
Yes, in the flat position. They do not need to be held or restrained to stand on it, which is often easier on an older dog than a groomer visit.
What grit should I start with?
The board ships with 120 grit fitted and an 80 grit spare. Start on the installed 120. If it feels too aggressive for them, switch to the softer 80 grit spare.
